This is a small personal blog, and I treat your privacy the way I'd want mine treated. Here's the whole of it.

What I collect

If you sign up for the newsletter, I collect your email address — and only that. I use double opt-in, which means you confirm your subscription before you ever receive anything. I don't ask for your name, and I don't require an account to read the blog.

Why I collect it

Only to send you the occasional “quiet letter.” That's the single reason. I won't use your email for anything else.

Who helps me handle it

I use Buttondown to manage signups and send emails. Your email address is stored with them as my email provider. You can read how they handle data in their privacy policy. I don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing.

Tracking & cookies

This site uses Vercel Analytics to count page views — nothing more. It collects no personal information, sets no cookies, and cannot identify you as an individual. I see numbers (how many people visited a page, roughly where in the world they came from) — never who you are or what else you do online. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

Leaving anytime

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you're out, and I'll remove your address from my active list. You can also email me at ridingwritingrighting@gmail.com to ask what I have or to be removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data I hold about you. Because the only thing I hold is your email, honoring that is simple — just write to me and I'll take care of it.

Children

This blog is written for adults and isn't directed at children. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this note ever changes, I'll update the date at the top.
